Job Overview:

With 7 facilities covering 10 states, Pioneer sells and services industrial equipment for the power, chemical, petrochemical, pulp & paper, food & beverage, and pharmaceutical industries.  The industrial equipment Pioneer sells and services include Pressure Relief Valves (PRVs), Control Valves, Manual Valves, Actuation, Instrumentation, Pumps, Blowers, Mechanical Seals, and Fluid Sealing applications.

Valve and industrial equipment assembly and repair have been the cornerstone of Pioneers business for over 37 years and continues to grow.  The role of a Machinist would be performing the essential duties of reconditioning, converting, and manufacturing parts of various types of equipment.  Machinist responsibilities will be primarily in shop with some onsite work at customer sites when needed. Pioneer provides great potential for upward growth.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

 

  • Follow all Pioneer Safety and Quality procedures and regulations
  • Operate machining equipment – CNC machining center, bench lathes, VTL, HBM, surface grinders
  • Operate equipment – overhead hoists, sand blaster, parts washer, propylene torch, etc.
  • Take critical dimensions using various measuring tools
  • Compare critical dimension findings to manufacturer’s manuals
  • Establish fits, and critical dimensions of internal parts through machining processes
  • Document critical dimensions and enter job data into ValvKeep database and document photos
  • Coordinate with office personnel on work requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Maintain equipment in area, as required
  • Return Valves/Parts to Proper Bins, Boxes, etc.
  • Assist other functions of shop during slow periods
  • May be required to help in field assignments
  • May be required to climb and work at various elevations depending on job scope
  • Attend job and safety training, as necessary or required

 

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.  Desire a technical or trade school degree.
  • The right candidate has experience with CNC machines and capable of learning our trade
  • Must have experience working with hand and power tools.
