OVERVIEW
The Wide Web Flexographic Press Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining wide web flexographic printing presses, ensuring that the printed materials meet the specified requirements. This role requires technical expertise and problem-solving skills to manage, troubleshoot, and optimize the printing process.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for reading and interpreting job orders, identifying any possible errors, and setting up equipment accordingly
Facilitates print press process from start to finish
Responsible for changing plates and/or materials in between orders
Maintains quality by performing all required Quality Control inspections prior to production and at assigned inspection points throughout the process.
Responsible for cleaning machines according to specifications
Performs light maintenance, supply inventory, when necessary
Safely operates Material handling Equipment (Powered Industrial Trucks) to stage materials
Safely, efficiently, and effectively operate assigned press, adhering to all customer specifications, while monitoring quality, production, and waste.
Monitor and maintain ink pumps, make necessary press adjustments, and troubleshoot and resolve printing-related issues.
Make press adjustments as required
Complete the necessary Quality checks
Complete shingle board and proper sampling and retain procedures
Monitor all quality aspects of the print production process
Effectively monitor the colors on the printed rolls
Ensure all required quality data is properly documented
Troubleshoot and solve printing-related issues
Keep the work area clean and organized.
Work scheduled shifts and overtime. Attend all meetings as required.
Any other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor.
WORK EXPERIENCES
Experience independently operating flexographic or similar printer in fast paced printing operation
Demonstrated ability to read measurements in both standard and metric units
Proven ability to make sound decisions regarding resource utilization and needs.
Demonstrated ability to clearly and effectively communicate
Proven ability to successfully meet customer and management deadlines.
Strong technical aptitude with experience in manufacturing.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
1 year certificate from college or technical school; or 3 to 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred

Microsoft office and PC skills
Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills

Able to regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
