About this role
Summary
The Emergency Medical Technician is responsible for emergency treatment of injured or ill employees. The EMT oversees the continuing medical treatment of employees including physician and physical therapy appointments. Coordinates with the Safety Manager on transitional duty work for employees with restricted duty work releases. Usually works under the direction of the environmental, safety and health staff.

Job Duties
- Administers first-aid treatment or life support care to sick or injured employees in pre-hospital settings
- Operate equipment such as electrocardiograms, external defibrillators or bag valve mask resuscitators in advanced life support environments
- Performs emergency diagnostic and treatment procedures such as airway management or heart monitoring during ambulance ride
- Records and reports to physician the injured employee’s condition, the treatment provided and any reaction to drugs or treatment
- Access nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures
- Maintains medical files
- Maintain up-to-date electronics knowledge and stay current with industry trends and best practices
- Training of First aid and Hygiene and safety
- OSHA safety practice
- Develop of health programs
Requirements
- Associates Degree as an Emergency Medical Technician
- Demonstrated practical knowledge of emergency medical care
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Physically able to handle emergency injury or illness situations
- Able to create alternative solutions to problems
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong inter-personal skills
- High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning
