Supervise and coordinate the activities of shop operations managing the overall performance of all areas of the shop: equipment, personnel administration, and work schedules.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review work throughout the work process and at completion, in order to ensure that it has been performed effectively. Manage technician productivity through the use of Productivity reports.
  • Invoice all completed Repair orders the day the work is completed.
  • Reviews all open repair orders weekly and delete any that are not current.
  • Provide on-the-job training whenever necessary and appropriate to employees and follow up to insure desired and expected results are achieved.
  • Communicate with employees and management on a regular basis to insure FleetPride and industry acceptable procedures are followed, new procedures and methods are considered and new approved methods or procedures are known and carried out on a timely basis.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures, abide by same.
  • Counsel employees in work-related activities, personal growth and career development.
  • Be sure that shop is operated within OSHA standards
  • Make sure all FleetPride safety programs are followed and training is completes on a timely basis.
  • Responsible for preparation of work orders and invoices for service work in accordance with company procedures.
  • Responsible for quality of all completed work before it leaves the shop to insure proper work has been done.
  • Obtain and maintain shop equipment for proper servicing of heavy duty vehicles.
  • Report work-related injuries of shop workers to our safety department via Intellex as soon as possible but never later than 24hrs.
  • Other duties assigned.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

  • High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
  • Five years combined experience as mechanic, welder and supervisor preferably in the heavy duty truck industry.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Hands on Diesel Technician Experience
  • Experience leading Technicians
  • Experience Counseling Technicians
  • Experience improving Technician efficiency

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to lift 50lbs
