Fleek is a B2B Marketplace for wholesale second hand fashion. We enable professional resellers and retail stores to buy from vintage clothing suppliers around the world. We are backed by top Silicon Valley VCs like Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), Y Combinator, and more.
Team
Fleek is a set of funky individuals who find unity in diversity with the single mission of helping sustainability, promoting circular fashion while building a beautiful product experience. Our 10 people team consists of ex-YC founders leading our engineering effort, ex-Uber & Doordash folks leading our operations and supply strategy. Alongside our Growth team is lead by folks who went to Cambridge, Oxford and UC Berkeley.
Technology stack
Fleek is built with a modern native stack with Javascript as its backbone and React, React Native as the frameworks for app development. We have two buyer and supplier facing apps on App Store and Play Store. Everything we do at Fleek is AI first. Our tech mantra is to build agents for everyone inside and outside of Fleek. Building Agents at tools for internal members and building beautiful experiences for our customers using chat interfaces or using sophisticated technologies like embeddings is the future of engineering! We employ AWS as our cloud provider and use technologies in OpenSearch, DataFlow and Lambda, Video streaming to build on top. Our philosophy is to reuse where possible and innovate when we can add value.
Role specific details
Fleek is currently supporting about 500k - 1M monthly active users and about 10,000 transacting users. We serve buyers and suppliers in about 20 different countries across US, EU and Asia. You have the opportunity to work at scale in a cross border environment. We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer who has 5+ years of experience building and/or leading tech. In your role you will be: Responsible for developing and hands-on coding in our backend (AWS) and Typescript/Node Establish and guide architecture designs around the company. You should be fluid with Databases, Search Indexes, Data Pipelines. Ability to pickup recent developments in AI to be able to apply to use cases such as search & personalization Fluent communication with teams developing frontend in React & React Native In this role you will determine your own scope. We are looking for folks who can get deep with code as well as help build out an engineering team for scale!

5+ years of experience with working in backend technologies.
NodeJS is a good to have
Experience working in backend/cloud environments like AWS or GCP
