JOB CONTENT
We are currently seeking a candidate who has the desire to prove that industry can do it!
The Application Engineer is a key role that supports customers by providing in-depth technical advice, and identifying customer hurdles while advocating a product solution. The Application Engineer will act as the relay between the outside sales force, manufacturing team, and customer service.
In this role, the Application Engineer will support the outside sales team by providing technical knowledge during the sales cycle for the Gardner Abrasives portfolio, enabling the company to gain market share growth. The Applications Engineer will directly support the customers' needs in terms of product information, price quotes, and product availability.
At Fives we all have a part to play in achieving a common purpose. Your role will be to:
- Demonstrate added-value of Gardner Abrasives products to improve customer processes and demonstrate cost savings
- Support the sales team with identifying new business and market growth opportunities
- Provide the customer with quotations; product descriptions, specifying materials, geometry, etc.
- Regularly interact with the manufacturing plant to learn, test, and improve product performance
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Preferred areas of education, certifications, and skills; manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, and mechanical engineering
- 5+ years of work experience preferred
- Previous sales, application, or machining experience is a plus
- Cutting tool, dressing tool, and/or grinding experience
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Self-starter and relationship-focused
- Customer-orientated and solution-driven
Job Content
Salary Range: $75K - $90K (Salary offer will be commensurate with experience)

WORK SITE LOCATION and HOURS:
- Ability to commute: 481 Gardner Street, South Beloit, IL 61080
- Schedule: 8-10 hour shifts
- 7:00 am - 4:00 pm
- Must be willing to travel (25%)

What you'll do
