About this role

<p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p> <p>As a Senior Internal Auditor within our Finance and Accounting Department, you will plan and execute internal audit engagements to evaluate the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and internal controls. The most rewarding part of this role is helping identify and reduce critical risks to the company and becoming a trusted advisor to key management.</p> <p><em>You will thrive in this role if you: </em></p> <ul> <li>Communicate clearly and confidently, translating complex risks and audit findings into actionable insights for diverse stakeholders.</li> <li>Apply critical thinking and sound judgment to identify risks, ask the right questions, and prioritize what matters most.</li> <li>See resolutions through to the end, ensuring that ideas and problems are finished out.</li> </ul> <p><em>These skills will be used to: </em></p> <ul> <li>Analyze risk of financial, operational, compliance and technology processes</li> <li>Build effective working relationships with business and functional leaders</li> <li>Conduct walkthroughs and interviews to understand processes and risks</li> <li>Clearly communicate audit findings, risks, and recommendations to management</li> <li>Monitor remediation of audit findings and validate corrective actions</li> <li>Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains</li> <li>Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and ethical conduct</li> <li>Performs additional duties as requested by management.</li> </ul> <p><em>Required Qualifications: </em></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field</li> <li>5-8 years of progressive internal or external audit experience</li> <li>Experience leading audits with minimal supervision</li> <li>Understands audit standards and internal audit frameworks</li> </ul> <p><em>Preferred Qualifications:</em></p> <ul> <li>CPA, CIA, or CISA</li> <li>Public accounting or construction-related internal audit experience</li> </ul> <p><em>Physical demands and work environment:</em></p> <ul> <li>Must have use of sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through use of the telephone and face-to-face contact.</li> <li>Must have the capability to effectively use and operate various items of office-related equipment such as but not limited to the computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine.</li> <li>Must be able to sit for long periods of time with low periods of reaching and standing.</li> </ul> <p><strong>The Value of a Career with The Fischer Group </strong></p> <p>Fischer Homes is one of the largest and most reputable home builders in the Midwestern and Southeastern states.
