Senior Presales Manager, Cards
Overview
The Presales Manager for Cards will lead and oversee the presales function across the region. This role is responsible for managing a team of solution consultants, ensuring high‑quality presales engagement, and driving successful commercial outcomes for FIS Cards Solutions (issuing and acquiring).
You will work closely with Sales Leaders, Product Management, Professional Services, and other stakeholders to align presales strategy with business objectives, elevate solution positioning, and support key deals through thought leadership, team coordination, and client engagement. The role requires deep expertise in cards issuing solutions and the ability to translate complex business requirements into compelling solution narratives.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Management
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of solution consultants across Europe.
- Set clear performance standards and ensure consistency in presales delivery, presentations, and solution design.
- Foster a collaborative culture of continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and professional development.
Presales Strategy & Execution
- Define and execute the regional presales strategy in alignment with sales and product leadership.
- Oversee qualification, progression, and closure of sales opportunities by allocating SME resources and ensuring strategic presales involvement.
- Drive the creation, review, and quality assurance of RFP/RFI responses, ensuring accuracy and compelling solution storytelling.
- Own the governance and approval process for solution designs and estimates.
Client & Deal Engagement
- Act as an executive presales sponsor for strategic opportunities and key client engagements.
- Provide expert-level consultancy to prospects and clients on cards issuing, processing, and payment innovation.
- Support the setup and delivery of complex solution demonstrations and presentations.
- Partner with Sales Executives to craft solution value propositions that differentiate FIS in competitive sales cycles.
Solution Governance & Collaboration
- Ensure presales representation in product roadmap discussions; gather client feedback and market insights to inform product managers.
- Coordinate presales activities with Professional Services, Pricing, and Product teams to ensure solution alignment and feasibility.
- Assess and validate third‑party vendor solutions for integration or partnership opportunities.
Market & Industry Leadership
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of cards/payments trends across UK and Europe, including debit, credit, prepaid, and emerging lending models (e.g., BNPL).
- Provide internal and external thought leadership, supporting business development campaigns and speaking engagements where needed.
What You Bring
- Proven experience in presales, solution consulting, or product-focused client-facing roles within card issuing/processing.
- Proven experience managing or mentoring solution consultants in a high-growth, complex-sales environment.
- Strong business and technical understanding of cards issuing and processing across European markets.
- Deep knowledge of requirements across debit, credit, prepaid, unsecured lending, and "as-a-service" propositions.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills; credible at senior client and stakeholder levels.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience supporting large enterprise or multi-market deals.
- Ability to work collaboratively across functions and geographies.
- High personal accountability, passion for achieving results, and a consulting mindset.
