About the role:

As a team leader you could work with bleeding edge technology as you build innovative fintech products that change the way the world pays, banks and invests. This will involve developing core versions of software applications, identifying client requirements and technical specifications, interacting with engineering groups, and training clients on applications.

What you will be doing:

• Leading and organising work for up to 2 scrum teams of developers and QAs.
• Actively managing scrum team backlog, ensuring stable stream of refined and completed tasks.
• Managing people: setting objectives, verifying results and providing feedback to team members. Performance reviews.
• Reporting on teams' progress and status of the increment.
• Synchronising with other team leaders and lead developers, to mitigate impediments and dependencies.
• Hands-on delivering code to the highest standards.
• Designing, programming, debugging and modifying software enhancements.
• Interacting with product managers and product owners to refine requirements and modifications.
• Participating in software  design meetings to determine technical requirements.
• Performing code review, ensuring quality standards.
• Contributing to the continuous integration of and delivery of the products.
• Providing well-considered estimates as part of the scrum sprint estimation process.
• Following the agreed coding standards and practices and propagating them into your team.
• Organising and be an active participant in FIS’s agile development practices and ceremonies.

What you will need:

• Minimum 8 years as software developer, ideally in an enterprise environment.
• Experience in leading the development team, e.g. As a scrum master or people manager.
• Experience with end-to-end systems development life cycles and standards.
• Proficiency in solutions design and requirements definition disciplines.
• Experience working in an Agile development methodology.
• Experience in developing distributed systems in a microservices architecture.
• Strong experience in Java and JVM languages.
• Experience in using relational databases (e.g. MySQL) and non-relational datastores (e.g. Elasticsearch, parquet files).
• Awareness of the OWASP top ten and other security considerations for micro-services and web applications.
• Understanding and exposure to JIRA, Confluence, GIT, Jenkins, Gradle, Artifactory.
• Experience with working in a continuous integration environment (preferably with Jenkins) and containerised (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) technologies.
• Excellent personal organizational and prioritisation skills.
• Nice to have: experience in Scala and Apache Spark.
• Nice to have: knowledge of financial industry practices, regulations and operations.
