About this role

Job Description

To oversee the effective functioning, development and execution of a credit risk strategy to support RMBs strategic imperatives linked to FRG credit risk communities and centers of expertise
  • Initiate dialogue to build professional working relationships with all stakeholders displaying excellent abilities to
  • listen, advise, influence, negotiate and present at all levels
  • Lead and facilitate difficult conflict situations into resolution
  • While sitting in Global Markets,co-ordinate Corporate GM strategy and deal pipeline, between Global Markets and  
  • Corporate Segments from a credit perspective. Champion deal flow, drive credit engagement, maintain key
  • relationships and develop efficiencies.
  • Integrate opinions and information provided by various sources to make strategic decisions
  • Adapt communication styles to meet the needs of different audiences
  • Continually scan the industry to identify opportunities to create strategic partnerships with key individuals and bodies
  • Ensure timely accurate relevant responses to ad hoc requests
  • Develop and maintain various credit mandates to enable and efficient approval process.
  • Attend relevant meetings and provide advice and guidance on deals
  • Support, guide and drive business strategy from a Credit perspective
  • Participate and provide leadership in credit committees and screening forums in terms of approvals and ongoing
  • portfolio management
  • Identify, develop and manage early warning signals in credit portfolios, new deal  and in the overall market
  • Ensure committees run efficiently and that mandates and policies are kept up-to-date and adhered to
  • Help shape existing and new transactions by providing timely relevant advice and guidance particularly on complex  
  • deals
  • Provide regular portfolio reporting to the credit committees
  • Interact with RMB Exco and FRB Board Committee on relevant portfolio issues on an ad hoc basis as required
  • Oversee relevant portfolio limits and provide input into the regular review processes to the risk Committees
  • Provide strategic input to shape the Bank’s growth initiatives from a risk perspective
  • Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders to manage risk as well as how to apply and optimise these
  • processes and procedures
  • Enhance relationships between own function and key internal and external stakeholders to improve reporting and
  • wider understanding of risk profiles
  • Take full responsibility for performance management of all direct reports managing their performance in relation to
  • quality standards and agreed benchmarks and objectives focusing on all aspects of sound people management
  • Engage in recruitment development, performance management, remuneration and rewards, career path planning, on
  • the job training, coaching, and mentoring
  • Ensure appropriate levels of management and accountability
  • Motivate, delegate, and empower appropriately, enabling direct reports to take responsibility and display appropriate creativity and initiative
  • Work with your relevant teams to actively grow their skills and lead them in operational excellence
  • Measure the success of the strategic initiatives
