Contract Type: Permanent 

Salary: £25,885.80 to £28,175.91 (pro rata) 

Working Pattern: 22.5hrs per week, Monday to Friday between 07:45 to 09:00, 14:45 to 18:00 and various shifts between 07:30 to 18:00 during school holidays 

Location: Parkhill Primary School, Leven

Job Details  

As a Childcare Practitioner you will be expected to: 

  • Plan, facilitate and supervise a wide range of play-based activities and social experiences both in and outdoors.  This will include setting up the play space to ensure it is safe, stimulating and welcoming. 

  • Empower children to lead their own play, guiding them on as needed to boost their creativity and independence. 

  • Support children to prepare healthy snacks in line with dietary and nutritional need and guidelines. 

  • Support and encourage children to build confidence, self-esteem, and lifelong skills through play and exploration.  

  • Deal with accidents and incidents, responding calmly and professional, ensuring children’s health and wellbeing needs are met. 

The Person 

We are therefore looking for someone who: 

  • is fun, engaging and has experience of working with children and young people of all ages. 

  • holds a relevant childcare qualification, or is willing to work towards one as required by the Scottish Social Services Council 

  • is reliable, has good communication skills and can work as part of a team
