Job Details 

We are looking for a motivated and driven individual with good values and a genuine interest in the care and support of Older People; with experience of care within a highly complex yet rewarding environment. 

The successful candidate will undertake the role of the activity’s organiser. This will involve initiating and developing a programme of meaningful activities and improving and maintaining the quality of life for the service users that is informed by the needs, preferences, and interests of the service user's within Ostlers house.  

You will provide a range of social, recreational, and educational activities in accordance with the individuals needs and preferences and enable the service users to participate in a level of activity that is responsive to varying abilities. You will also contribute to the assessment, care planning and maintaining accurate records for the individuals and participate in the evaluation of the activity programmes and the outcomes for the service users, whilst ensuring the service users can achieve their maximum independence. 

We provide ongoing care and support to vulnerable older people: Ostlers House also supports a STAR unit.

The Person 

  • Provide care and support which meets the Health and Social Care standards. 

  • Must be able to work with other Council services and partner agencies to support the effective planning and delivery of care and support within our service. 

  • You should be able to work flexibly and creatively within a dynamic and ambitious team. 

  • Must have or be able to work towards the required qualification of SVQ level 2.

Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
