About this role

Job Description:

The Role

As a Director of Technology for Fund Administration serving Venture Capital firms, you will lead a team of engineers in integrating and enhancing our existing fund accounting systems to create a new service offering. This role focuses on connecting with third-party accounting tools, custodian systems, and client-specific technologies to create seamless operational workflows.

You'll work closely with our Fund Administration product and operations team to understand the specific requirements of fund management, including limited partner reporting, capital calls, distributions, and regulatory compliance. Your primary responsibility will be architecting and implementing integration solutions that connect our core systems with existing accounting software used by VC firms, ensuring data flows seamlessly between platforms while maintaining accuracy and regulatory compliance.

The role requires both hands-on technical work and team leadership. You'll guide a small team of engineers in developing APIs, data connectors, and workflow automation tools that integrate with existing internal and external systems. You'll also collaborate with business stakeholders to prioritize integration features and ensure our solutions meet the operational needs of our client base.
 

The Skills and Expertise and Skills You Bring

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related technical field

  • 12+ years of software development experience with 3+ years in technical leadership roles

  • Strong experience with system integration patterns, API development, and data pipeline architecture

  • Proven expertise with modern programming languages (Java, Python, C#, or similar)

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

  • Knowledge of database design, ETL processes, and data transformation techniques

  • Experience leading and managing software development teams

  • Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions

Preferred:

  • Direct experience with fund administration, investment management, or alternative investments

  • Knowledge of venture capital operations, fund structures, and LP/GP workflows

  • Understanding of financial regulations (SEC, ERISA) and compliance requirements in fund administration

  • Experience with real-time data processing and reconciliation systems

  • Background in financial data integration, including custodian feeds and transfer agent systems

  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud-native development

  • Knowledge of data analytics platforms and business intelligence tools

  • Previous experience at investment management firms, fund administrators, or financial technology companies
