This role will work closely with business & technology partners across the firm globally.

About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Technology Resilience Engineer and Subject Matter Expert (SME) specialising in End-User, Workstation, Azure, and Microsoft 365 technologies to enhance Fidelity’s enterprise technology resilience posture. This role focuses on engineering resilience, recoverability, and operational continuity across the end-user ecosystem — encompassing device platforms, identity, collaboration, and digital workplace technologies.

You will operate at the intersection of technology engineering, architecture, and operational resilience, embedding recovery and continuity capabilities into end-user and productivity platforms, ensuring business-critical services remain reliable, secure, and compliant with regulatory standards.

This role requires a combination of deep technical expertise across Microsoft enterprise technologies and a strong understanding of operational resilience principles, applying a risk-based approach to improve stability and recoverability. You will assess, design, and implement strategies to harden end-user technologies, leveraging automation, testing, and monitoring to measure and enhance resilience posture.

Core areas of focus are as follows:

  • Act as a consultative SME and engineer, driving the embedding of resilient design principles across end-user and collaboration technologies, with focus on:
  • Modern workplace infrastructure and Microsoft ecosystem resilience.
  • Readiness to respond to severe disruptions such as widespread endpoint outages, identity compromise, SaaS service degradation, and large-scale collaboration platform failures.
  • Designing, architecting, and implementing resilient end-user and collaboration solutions that support business continuity and recovery objectives.
  • Strengthening recovery and failover strategies for Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Teams, Intune, and OneDrive.
  • Partnering with engineering, cyber security, and architecture teams to embed resilience and fault tolerance in device management, application deployment, and identity services.
  • Supporting and leading resilience and recovery testing for end-user environments and collaboration services.
  • Evaluating new end-user technologies, SaaS offerings, and automation tools to enhance resilience and observability.
  • Collaborating with enterprise architects to embed resilience principles into the digital workplace design lifecycle.
  • Working with key stakeholders to ensure technology resilience aligns with impact tolerances and critical business service recovery objectives.
  • Driving automation, telemetry, and data-driven insights through Power BI and other tools to monitor resilience posture and performance.
  • Conducting horizon scanning of emerging technologies, threats, and dependencies to inform forward strategy for digital workplace resilience.
  • Ensuring compliance with FCA, PRA, DORA, and other relevant resilience-related regulations for technology services.

Experience and Qualifications Required

Strong background in end-user computing, Microsoft 365, and Azure technologies, including design, engineering, implementation, and operation of large-scale enterprise environments.
Proven experience delivering resilient digital workplace and collaboration solutions across hybrid or cloud-first architectures.

Expertise in:

  • Microsoft 365 suite – O365, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Intune.
  • Azure and Entra ID (Azure AD) – identity governance, conditional access, and hybrid join strategies.
  • Workstation and endpoint management – including Windows OS hardening, endpoint analytics, and device compliance.
  • Automation and configuration management using Intune, PowerShell, or Azure Automation.
  • Endpoint security and Zero Trust implementation for modern workplace environments.
  • Excellent understanding of technology resilience, business continuity, and operational recovery principles for end-user systems and SaaS platforms.
  • Familiarity with operational resilience regulations and their implications for end-user and cloud productivity technologies (FCA, PRA, DORA).
  • Proficient in observability, monitoring, and analytics tools (e.g., Microsoft Defender suite, Power BI, Sentinel, ServiceNow, or Splunk).
  • Experience with automation and CI/CD for endpoint configuration and application deployment.
  • Strong engineering awareness and understanding of recovery patterns, redundancy, and fault isolation for digital workplace technologies.
  • Experience managing and influencing third-party vendors and service providers to achieve resilient outcomes.
  • Understanding of the cyber threat landscape relevant to identity, endpoints, and collaboration environments.
  • Skilled at producing technical documentation, whitepapers, and executive reports articulating resilience strategies and findings.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical data to drive decision-making.
  • Effective communicator capable of engaging across both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent presentation skills – able to articulate technical concepts and resilience strategies at multiple levels.
  • Demonstrates adaptability, innovation, and collaboration across teams and business units.
  • Exhibits strong ownership, accountability, and a continuous improvement mindset.
