The Opportunity

We are building a team with strong MySQL Database, AWS, Kubernetes and NoSQL skills who will partner with the development teams to architect, design, automate database systems and deployments and embrace new technologies. What You’ll Contribute

  • Support a diverse set of database platforms including MySQL, Oracle, Couchbase, AWS RDS and Kubernetes EKS cluster in a 24x7 production environment.

  • Perform capacity planning, database health checks, and performance tuning to ensure high availability and reliability for mission-critical OLTP and decision support systems.

  • Implement and maintain disaster recovery (DR) and high availability (HA) solutions across multi-region environments.

  • Monitor and optimize query performance, replication lags, and overall database efficiency through indexing and best practices.

  • Automate deployment of database changes to support new builds, patches, and hotfix releases using modern DevOps practices.

  • Implement and enforce database hardening, security, and backup/restore best practices to maintain compliance and data protection.

  • Design, implement, and manage EKS clusters to support microservices and container-based applications running on Kubernetes.

  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to troubleshoot performance issues and provide expert-level support for escalations.

  • Work closely with development and implementation teams to provide tuning, guidance, and review of database design and code.

  • Participate in a rotational on-call schedule and be available for after-hours or weekend support as required.

  • Contribute to process improvement by developing and documenting procedures to enhance stability, performance, and operational efficiency.


What We’re Seeking

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field, with 5+ years of hands-on Database Administration experience in production environments.

  • Extensive expertise with MySQL, AWS RDS and Oracle (19c RAC/ASM).

  • Strong experience with AWS Cloud services including RDS, EC2, IAM roles, Security Groups, VPC Peering, and other core infrastructure components.

  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with Kubernetes

  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and tools such as YAML, GitHub, Docker, Terraform, and CloudFormation.

  • Proficiency in Unix/Linux administration and shell scripting for automation

  • Hands-on experience with backup, replication, patching, database upgrades, and automation frameworks.

  • Familiarity with developer-oriented technologies such as Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Jenkins/CICD pipelines, and Groovy scripting.

  • Understanding of performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization for large-scale distributed systems.

  • Operational knowledge of Oracle Data Guard, GoldenGate, and OEM Grid Control.

  • Certifications in Oracle/MySQL or AWS are highly preferred.

  • Willingness to work a rotational on-call weekend schedule

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, DevOps, and application teams.
