Ready to be part of the experience?

Now, let’s discuss this role and what you will do to help achieve Fever’s mission.

Role Overview

The Casting Director for The Jury Experience leads casting across multiple countries and productions. You will source talent and casting partners worldwide, define role profiles and evaluation criteria, support local teams with casting decisions, and resolve casting issues from auditions through rehearsals and live performances. You’ll review self-tapes and footage, collaborate closely with directors and producers, and help ensure every local cast meets the creative and performance standards of the show—including recommending release and recasting when required.

We're looking for a part-time freelancer, with an hybrid office model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Global sourcing & partnerships: Identify, build, and manage relationships with performers, casting networks, and casting agencies worldwide.

  • Casting profiles: Define and maintain casting breakdowns (role requirements, tone, skills, look/feel, language/accent where relevant).

  • Tape review & callbacks: Watch and assess casting tapes, run or support callbacks/chemistry reads, and deliver clear recommendations and shortlists.

  • Local team support: Guide local producers/teams through casting decisions and align choices with show standards and director expectations.

  • Casting issue resolution: Troubleshoot challenges (availability, replacements, performance gaps, last-minute changes) and execute recasting quickly when needed.

  • Performance monitoring: Review rehearsal/show footage to evaluate readiness, consistency, and role fit.

  • Talent decisions: Recommend coaching plans or role changes, and—when necessary—recommend releasing and replacing cast members based on performance.

  • Director collaboration: Act as a key creative partner to directors, translating feedback into casting actions and maintaining alignment across markets.

  • Process & tracking: Maintain organized casting records, evaluations, and pipelines; uphold confidentiality and fair casting practices.

  • Legal/compliance risk leadership: Flag potential legal, union, contractual, right-to-work/visa, and regional compliance risks early; collaborate with the Legal (and HR/Production) teams to resolve and mitigate issues.

  • Budget & profitability: Own/track casting cost drivers; negotiate and renegotiate casting fees and agency terms to optimize costs and support production profitability in line with the show’s P&L.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of experience as a Casting Director or senior casting professional (theatre/live performance/immersive/touring preferred).

  • Strong creative judgment and the ability to evaluate performance quickly from tape and in-person sessions.

  • Experience working across multiple productions and stakeholders with tight timelines.

  • Clear, confident communication and a solutions-first mindset; comfortable leading difficult conversations when standards aren’t met.

  • Willingness to work across time zones.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills, especially clear reporting for internal stakeholders.

  • Proficient English + fluency in additional language.

  • Strong negotiation skills (agencies, talent fees, terms, and replacements).

  • Financial literacy and understanding of how a P&L works; comfort balancing creative needs with budget constraints.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Existing relationships with casting agencies and talent pools across multiple regions (e.g., Europe, UK, US, LATAM, MENA, APAC).

  • Familiarity with union environments and regional compliance considerations (varies by market).

  • Cross-cultural casting sensibility.

  • Experience setting up scalable casting systems (scorecards, tape workflows, databases, standardized briefs).

  • Experience with Google Sheets and P&Ls.

Our Hiring Process

  • A 30 min video call with one of our Talent Acquisition Managers, to better understand your career plan, assess cultural fit and answer any questions you may have
