DUTIES: We seek a Team Leader based out of our office at 4554 Glenmeade Lane, Auburn Hills, MI 48326. Note, this position does not require travel.

Responsibilities include leading teams of engineers in the execution of customer projects for testing and validation of gasoline and diesel engine systems; performing design, analysis and test engineering functions on complex engineering projects; ensuring testing resources are appropriately deployed to meet business needs; determining technical direction on assigned projects and communicates these to project team members; working closely with department Supervisors and Managers to ensure project time schedules are met; serving as a technical engineering expert; providing technical input and guidance to project team members; providing engineering support for test development; conducting data collection, analysis and reporting; generate and present technical reports; generating creative solutions to customer problems; handle escalated issues as needed; acting as a resource for coordinating technical details within and across departments; interfacing with other engineering and technical departments; observing and promoting all safety policies during the execution of required tasks; following ISO 9000/14001 procedures related to job duties; other duties as assigned.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other closely related engineering field and 36 months of experience in job offered or related position

Experience working with engine development tools, including INCA, Matlab/Simulink, and Uni-Plot.

Experience specifying test instrumentation and methodologies to meet measurement requirements for engine dynamometer bench tests as well as testing in-vehicle.

Experience developing and reviewing project status reports and technical presentations for customers and internal management.

Experience working with control systems and providing guidance to help define powertrain related control software algorithms for new controls and diagnostic features.

Experience conducting detailed data analysis and determining / guiding next steps to maintain project timelines.

Experience working with powertrain development tools, including INCA, Matlab/Simulink, and Uni-Plot.

Experience developing powertrain calibrations to support project performance, emissions and diagnostic system

targets.
