About this role
Role Description
We are looking for a Backend Developer to join the IT team within the Digital Sales Hub in Barcelona. In this role you will design, develop, and maintain backend applications, databases, and APIs that power our digital marketing and sales ecosystem. You will build scalable, secure services and cloud-hosted solutions that integrate with our Web Content Management System, Digital Asset Management, Marketing Automation, Customer Data Platform and Web Analytics, enabling reliable data flows and business processes. Working in a cross-functional SCRUM team, you will collaborate with frontend engineers, data engineers, product owners and international stakeholders to deliver end-to-end features, operationalize integrations and improve platform reliability.
Key responsibilities:
- Design, implement and maintain server-side applications, message queues, RESTful APIs, search engines, and database schemas to support marketing and customer-facing services.
- Develop robust business logic and data access layers using .NET and C#; contribute to frontend integration where required.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment processes for reliable delivery.
- Integrate with external platforms and services (WCMS, DAM, Marketing Automation, CDP, Consent Management, Web Analytics) using APIs and middleware (e.g., APIGee/Anypoint).
- Design for scalability, security, observability, and fault tolerance in cloud-hosted environments.
- Participate in SCRUM ceremonies & practices.
- Produce and maintain clear technical documentation and share best practices within the team.
- Support the team by addressing 2nd-level tickets, reproducing reported issues, and working to resolve them.
- Interest and ability to take on the Scrum Master role within the team, facilitating agile ceremonies and driving continuous improvement, is a plus
Requirements
Must-have:
- Proven experience as a Fullstack Developer or Backend Developer with exposure to frontend integration, preferably in a digital marketing or digital sales context.
- Strong programming skills in C# and production experience with the .NET ecosystem.
- Experience designing and building APIs (RESTful services) and working with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices and automated testing.
- Agile mindset and experience working in SCRUM teams.
- Team-oriented, strong communicator with experience in international / cross-country collaboration.
- Very good English (written and spoken).
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS and cloud-native services.
- Experience with Razor and/or Blazor
- Experience with APIGee or Anypoint for integration and API management.
- Additional programming language experience in Java or Python.
- Experience with Content Delivery Networks (CDN)
- Experience with Monitoring Systems such as Grafana
