Warehouse Receiving Lead - Day Shift

About this role
Responsibilities:
- Assist Warehouse managers in coordinating and ensuring efficiency in warehouse functions and responsibilities of all employees (selecting, loading, auditing, shipping, receiving, replenishment).
- Assist Warehouse manager training and mentoring warehouse staff on proper procedures and safety protocols.
- Assign tasks and monitor performance to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Able to operate a forklift, reach truck and an electric pallet jack.
- Ensuring the proper functioning of all warehouse tools and equipment.
- Effectively communicates all shift issues to the appropriate parties.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and audits.
- Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of the warehouse and equipment.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and timely fulfillment of orders.
- Address any issues or concerns raised by warehouse staff and escalate as needed.
- Implement and enforce safety regulations and procedures to create a safe working environment.
- Optimize warehouse layout and workflow to maximize space utilization and productivity.
- Report accident and injuries, per company policy, to HR and Safety Manager.
- Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
- Computer Literate
Skills:
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Forklift certification preferred.
Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Supplemental Job Functions:
- Knowledge of the safety documentation processes for handling related warehousing activities.
- Should have excellent leadership and administration skills.
- Strong motivational skills and effectual team building capabilities.
- Ability to effectively manage time and resolve issues in a timely fashion.
- Ability to efficiently coordinate and communicate with internal and external workers of the company.
Working Conditions:
- The position requires the ability to work in different temperature zones.
- This position requires the ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field preferred.
Experience: At least 3 years of experience in warehouse operations, including 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role. Experience in Food Distribution is preferred/ a plus!
