Position Summary:
The position of Human Resources Manager is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act and shall not be entitled to overtime compensation.
The HR Manager will help build the HR function including implementing company policies, creating and implementing SOPs, and overseeing all administrative functions of Human Resources while providing consultation in the areas of Safety and Compliance.
The Human Resources Manager shall be accountable to, and supervised by the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Development, administration and management of all personnel policies and procedures
- Administration of wage and salary schedules for all non-executive positions within Ferraro Foods. Ensure that these schedules are based on relevant information as found in annual surveys
- Submit management reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) which shall include, but not be limited to, the number of personnel requests, the number of budgeted positions vacant and their hiring status, the number of vacancies filled and all other information pertinent to the hiring process
- Oversee all Recruitment, Benefit, Workers’ Compensation, and Training functions
- Recordkeeping and reporting in compliance with all Federal, State, and OSHA guidelines (ACA, BLS, OSHA 300, Credible Coverage Reporting, etc.)
- Provide review and coordination of required performance evaluations for non-executive personnel
- Consummate all hires and promotions within Ferraro Foods, ensuring that all offers of employment are reduced to writing prior to the effective date of the commitment and approved by Sr. VP/COO
- Maintains historical human resource records, keeping past and current records.
- Ensures all data has been entered correctly into the payroll system each week (new hires, terminations, promotions, wage improvements, status changes, etc.)
- Maintain all Time and Attendance and PTO per pay period and work in conjunction with Finance in the completion of payroll
- Complete weekly payroll reports
- Liaison with payroll and benefit system representatives to troubleshoot issues and administer policy and mapping revisions effectively
- Responsible for handling employee conflicts in compliance with established policies and procedures
- Disciplinary Acts and Terminations (full cycle)
- Unemployment Insurance claims
- FMLA tracking and compliance
- Disability Claims
- 401k Assistance
- Ensuring company is informed on latest Legislature rulings in regards to all applicable aspects of Employment Law and successfully preparing and executing policies and procedures in compliance with revisions and additional mandates set forth by governing bodies
- Implements and completes the Open Enrollment Process
- Liaison with Hiring Managers and Sr. VP/COO on all requisitions and approvals
- Obtain approval on all requisitions, invoicing, promotions/evaluations/job offers
- Obtain approval, create, and process all Promissory Notes and Releases
- Conduct Departmental Evaluations in conjunction with hiring managers to evaluate areas of strength and improvement
- Maintain all historical Human Resources Records in compliance with all Federal and State standards (past and current records)
- Employee Relations in compliance with company policy and Federal/State mandates
Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelors’ degree or five years of job related experience
- Good verbal & written communication skills
- Computer experience, preferably with all Microsoft applications
- Able to create, write and edit composed correspondence
- General knowledge of federal and state employment laws and practices
- Extensive telephone and in person interviewing skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally and maintain strict confidentiality
- Advanced computer skills and proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Knowledge of ADP Workforce now a must
- Strong organizational and time management skills with an emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong sense of urgency and problem solving skills
- Highly motivated; able to work independently and in a team environment
- Highly dependable and reliable with regard to work schedule and ability to meet project deadlines
- Demonstrated ability, and commitment to, providing an extremely high level of customer service
