About the Role:

We are seeking Finance Accountant with strong analytical and automation skills to manage financial processes related to Duties & Taxes (D&T) function within the Record to Report (RTR) domain. This role bridges finance and technology and is pivotal in driving financial accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement across duty recovery accounting. The ideal candidate will leverage financial expertise, data-driven insights, and process automation to optimize reporting and decision-making. Please note this is not a taxation-related job but is related to recovery of custom duties paid on behalf of customers.

RTR – Duties recovery accounting

  • Streamline repetitive finance processes such as reconciliations, reporting, and data consolidation
  • Monitor, analyze, and resolve open items balance sheet accounts to ensure timely clearing.
  • Act as a subject matter expert providing end-to-end insights and identifying trends for process optimization.
  • Drive improvements in duty recovery accounting processes and elevate operational standards.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (STC, PTP, OPS) and external partners to resolve financial discrepancies and ensure compliance.
  • Oversee BPO activities, guide process execution, and ensure alignment with company standards.
  • Collaborate with auditors by preparing detailed documentation and audit trails for duty-related transactions.
  • Deliver training and documentation on best practices to finance teams.
  • Manage financial data integrity and reporting accuracy using advanced analytics tools.
  • Identify process gaps and propose actionable solutions to management.
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional initiatives to fix processes and build scalable solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements.

You will be a great fit if you have:

  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proven experience with automation tools (e.g., VBA, Power Query, RPA, Alteryx etc).
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Prior experience in determining the process issues/ gaps and helping the management to improve the process.
  • Strong financial accounting knowledge, including accruals, reconciliations, and revenue accounting.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Education: CA/Post Graduate/MBA with accounting experience and knowledge
