Position Overview
We are seeking qualified Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide clinical services in the Emergency Department (ED) and Transfer Center. This position supports a 24/7 operation and requires flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and federal holidays.
What You’ll Do
- Perform rapid patient assessments, triage, and prioritization of care in accordance with emergency protocols
- Provide direct nursing care to adult and pediatric patients with acute illness or injury
- Initiate and monitor emergency interventions, including IV therapy, medication administration, cardiac monitoring, and wound care
- Assist with trauma resuscitation and patient stabilization as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) procedures and administer moderate IV conscious sedation as certified and authorized
- Coordinate patient transfers through the Transfer Center, ensuring effective communication with providers and transport teams
- Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record
- Maintain compliance with infection control, patient safety, and quality standards
- Respond to emergency codes, high-acuity situations, and mass casualty events
What you’ll need
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program recognized by NLNAC, ACEN, or CCNE
- Requests for equivalency determinations may be considered
- Minimum of one (1) year of emergency nursing experience following graduation
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by any U.S. state or U.S. territory
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) and/or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) required
- Demonstrated clinical competency within the past two (2) years
- ABG certification prior to performing arterial blood gas procedures
- Completion of an Emergency Room skills inventory within 30 days of assignment
- Moderate IV Conscious Sedation certification, as required by NMCP
- U.S. citizenship is required
