As an Embedded Systems Engineer Intern, you will work closely with experienced engineers on real-world projects, assisting in the design and development of embedded systems and applications. This role will allow you to enhance your skills while contributing to the innovation and improvement of our leading-edge products.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities:   Assist in the design and development of embedded systems and applications. Support the testing and troubleshooting of software components. Collaborate with team members to implement firmware on microcontrollers. Participate in code reviews and contribute to software development best practices. Document technical processes and project results accurately and thoroughly. Conduct performance analysis and optimization of embedded systems. Assist in the integration of peripheral devices and sensors into existing applications. Perform other duties as needed or assigned.   Qualifications  Minimum Qualifications:   Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or related field. Strong understanding of embedded systems, microcontrollers, and programming languages such as C/C++. Familiarity with hardware debugging tools, such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers. Basic knowledge of digital and analog circuit design principles. Understanding of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and software development life cycle (SDLC). Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts effectively. Eager to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies. Must be able to pass a background check, drug test, and a reference check.   Physical Demands:   Required to stand, walk, type, have eye/hand/foot coordination, grasp, occasionally sit, lift, push, pull, carry, reach, and grasp. Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. This position works in a typical office and manufacturing environment. Clarity of vision including the ability to appropriately differentiate colors. Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds.   Additional Information:   This internship position is part of the  TXWORKS - Student program. Interested applicants will complete the Student Eligibility Form to get started. TXWORKS-eligible students participating in TXWORKS internships earn a minimum of $20 per hour for at least 8 weeks / 96 hours for internship opportunities.
