The EDI Communication Analyst is responsible for ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient electronic data communication between FORVIA systems and external business partners. Operating within the Integration Solutions & Platforms organization in North America Operations (NAO), the analyst provides technical expertise in EDI connectivity, troubleshooting, mapping, and SAP‑related interfaces.
The role requires strong functional knowledge of EDI standards and tools (including Seeburger BIS6, Covisint, SAP PO/PI, SAP ECC), communication protocols, and OEM‑specific communication requirements. A deep understanding of site operations and EDI‑supported business processes is essential to maintain seamless data exchange across the supply chain.
Main Mission
To configure, maintain, and support EDI communication processes within SAP‑integrated environments, ensuring uninterrupted data flow with customers and suppliers. This includes daily operational support, incident resolution, documentation, collaboration with global EDI teams, and participation in continuous improvement and training initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Activities
Configure and parameterize EDI connections for customers and suppliers within SAP environments, using Seeburger BIS6, Covisint, SAP PO/PI, and approved communication protocols such as OFTP, OFTP2, AS2, HTTPS, and SFTP.
Analyze and resolve EDI communication incidents, ensuring timely routing and closure of tickets following the global “follow‑the‑sun” support methodology.
Review existing processes and new business requirements to support localized and centralized JIT‑focused EDI communication flows.
Frequent Activities
Deliver strong customer service to internal FORVIA users and ensure smooth internal/external EDI communications.
Prepare and update support documentation, procedures, and operational guidelines.
Provide urgent support when required (including occasional after‑hours or weekend coverage).
Occasional Activities
Train and support Level 2 teams (EDI Competence Center or other regional teams) to ensure knowledge transfer and global support continuity.
Create and maintain internal BIS6 BIC mappings used for information structures and BIS6 dashboards.
Collaborate closely with EDI Team Leads and external providers to resolve issues extending beyond traditional EDI scope.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or similar.
Advanced English
Experience: Minimum 2 years (Desirable). Experience in the automotive industry is a plus.
Required technical skills:
o Knowledge and basics of EDI.
o EDI standards (X12, EDIFACT).
o EDI protocols (FTP, OFTP, HTTPs, SFTP, OFTP2, AS2).
o UNIX-like systems (Commands, shell scripting, JAVA, C, C++).
o EDI tools/VANs (Covisint Connect, GXS, Seeburger-BIS6, Seeburger-BIC Mapping Designer)
