Family & Children’s Agency (FCA) is a nonprofit human service organization that is committed to increasing the social and emotional well-being of our clients – people throughout Fairfield County. Our Agency builds better lives by offering more than 30 programs that meet needs across all ages, delivering services to more than 13,000 people each year. Our clients reside primarily in Norwalk, Wilton, Darien, Westport, Weston, New Canaan, Stamford, and Greenwich. Our Home Care and Foster Care programs provide assistance to residents throughout Fairfield County, and the Adoption program is both nationwide and international.

The Major Gifts Officer (MGO) will develop and strengthen relationships with donors capable of supporting Family & Children’s Agency (FCA) with gifts of $2,500 or more. This position works closely with the Chief Development Officer (CDO) to achieve FCA’s fundraising goals. This is a part- time position that will work 15-20 hours per week.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Donor Cultivation & Stewardship: Identify and build relationships with donors capable of making significant gifts. Develop strategies for engagement, retention, and increased support.
  • Major Gifts Solicitation: Lead solicitation efforts for a targeted group of 100-150 supporters through face-to-face meetings, presentations, and leveraging FCA events.
  • Donor Recognition & Engagement: Ensure timely acknowledgment and recognition for major gifts, enhancing donor engagement.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work with the team to set fundraising strategies, track progress, and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Data Management & Reporting: Maintain accurate donor records and generate reports to inform decision-making.

 Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience: 3+ years of fundraising or related experience, with proven success in major gifts solicitation.
  • Skills: Strong communication, relationship-building, and strategic thinking skills. Proficiency in Raiser's Edge is preferred.
