About this role
Rotate through Fairview Pharmacy Ambulatory Services. Work directly with pharmacy leaders on projects, with a focus on management and process improvement. Engage with leaders throughout the organization, staff, and fellow interns to gain leadership experience.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates ability to work with pharmacist leaders to complete process improvement projects.
- Understands the work flow of the pharmacy and identifies areas for improvement.
- Assists in the completion of daily responsibilities as designated by the supervising pharmacist.
- Performs administrative duties as assigned by the manager such as scheduling, assist with identifying and resolving patient specific medication related issues, and act as a primary resource for problem solving.
- Leverages the knowledge of other team members or leaders to come up with creative solutions to areas of opportunity that arise throughout their time with the organization.
Required
Education
- Actively enrolled in an accredited Doctor of Pharmacy program by start date.
- Applicant must have completed the first year of Doctor of Pharmacy program by start date.
- Able to provide a letter of intent.
Experience
- Able to work approximately 80 hours per 2-week pay period in variable shifts and locations.
- Able to work for 10 weeks during the summer beginning in late May to mid-August.
License/Certification/Registration
- Registered or eligible to be registered as an intern with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy. Registration must be obtained within one week of program start date.
Preferred
Education
- Has at least a 3.0 GPA
Experience
- Applicant has an interest in ambulatory pharmacy and/or pharmacy leadership.

This position offers a flat rate within the specified compensation range. The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Furthermore, our organization values pay equity and includes considerations of internal team equity when extending any offers.
