Role/Department Description:

DSO-DS Metals and Mining

The Content Specialist is responsible for the accurate collection, analysis, and processing of technical mining data to support FactSet’s global mining intelligence products. This role involves interpreting a wide range of mining company documents, extracting corporate and mineral property information, and ensuring the highest levels of data quality through rigorous review and validation processes.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong research and analytical capabilities, a solid understanding of geological concepts, and exceptional attention to detail.

Your Team’s Impact

DSO–DS Metals & Mining is part of FactSet’s Deep Sector initiative, a program designed to expand specialized content, improve existing fundamentals coverage, and develop new analytical capabilities across nine industries: Banks, Insurance, Real Estate, Power & Utilities, TMT, Metals & Mining, Oil & Gas, Specialty Finance, and Healthcare.

Within this framework, the Metals & Mining team plays a critical role by enriching FactSet’s mining-sector data with comprehensive, timely, and high-quality content. The team focuses on global mineral property data, geological information, drill results, production metrics, reserves and resources updates, company disclosures and other information that support clients’ decision-making and analytics.

As a Content Specialist, you will directly contribute to these objectives by reviewing technical mining documents, extracting key insights, processing data in our internal tool, and upholding data quality standards. You will collaborate with global teammates, support process improvements, and participate in training and product enhancement.

What You’ll Do

  • Analyze, collect and process mining and geological data from official sources, including technical reports, regulatory filings, press releases, and company disclosures.
  • Extract key information on mineral properties, including geology, production, reserves/resources, drill results, ownership, option agreements, royalties ,and project development.
  • Input and maintain data within the internal tool, ensuring adherence to standards for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Conduct ongoing quality control checks to identify and correct inconsistencies or errors.
  • Maintain and update existing content in alignment with methodology, product requirements, and industry developments.
  • Work on special projects, including data backfills, reclassification efforts, and content expansion.

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline .
  • With 3+ years of experience
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex technical mining documentation.
  • High numerical literacy and strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Google Earth
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a global team environment.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and participate in new projects or content initiatives.
