The Senior Mechanical Engineer participates in a team environment consisting of engineers and designers to produce construction documents for the following systems: HVAC wet/dry, plumbing, controls and the like.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities

•    Performs engineering tasks for the design of utilities and HVAC (wet/dry) systems for high technology facilities including cleanrooms, general manufacturing/process facilities and institutional facilities 
•    Prepares mechanical engineering calculations in support of HVAC systems designs including heat load calculations, duct sizing, chilled water hydraulics, static pressure calculations, equipment sizing and selection 
•    General knowledge of codes and common industry standards related to the design of industrial and manufacturing facilities and systems 
•    Coordinates with disciplines in the preparation and development of the deliverables and ensuring those other disciplines’ inputs are incorporated 
•    Supports project on-site execution and make decisions to support projects and act as technical consultant 
•    Assists in providing specialized technical input to studies and design for staff’s specific area of expertise 
•    Assists in developing studies and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by discipline team 
•    Works closely with the project team and other disciplines as well as other design offices 
•    Contributes to the development of conceptual, preliminary, and final design documentation, including system sizing and selection calculations, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), general arrangements, and sequences of operation
•    Other duties as assigned

Minimum Required

•    Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required
•    Professional Engineer (PE) License required
•    4+ years of experience
•    Autodesk Building Systems Software

 

Preferred

•    Nation Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) Record recommended
•    Consulting engineering experience 
•    Experience working within a team environment
•    Experience in the quality control review process
•    Experience contributing to continuous improvement processes 
•    Advanced Technology experience preferred
