The Mechanical QA/QC Engineer (m/f/d) plays a critical role in ensuring that all mechanical systems and installations within data centre construction projects meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. This includes overseeing inspections, documentation, and coordination with contractors and engineering teams to ensure project specifications are met.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities

  • Develop and implement QA/QC plans, procedures, and inspection protocols for mechanical systems
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and industry standards
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of mechanical installations (e.g., HVAC, piping, compressors, generators)
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for quality issues and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain detailed QA/QC documentation for project closeout
  • Prepare weekly QA/QC reports highlighting inspection results, issues, and resolutions
  • Review mechanical drawings and ensure alignment with construction specifications
  • Collaborate with project engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve technical and quality-related issues
  • Verify subcontractors’ quality systems and ensure alignment with company policies
  • Participate in QA/QC meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Show your expertise

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in QA/QC roles within large-scale construction projects, preferably data centres or high-tech facilities
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and commissioning processes
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001), inspection tools, and QA/QC software
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience with large mechanical equipment (HVAC, cooling systems, piping)
  • Knowledge of international construction standards and regulatory compliance
  • Certifications such as CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) or similar are a plus
