Description
The Mechanical Wet Engineer (Sanitary Systems) participates in a team environment consisting of engineers and designers to produce construction documents for the following systems: Sanitary systems, plumbing, wastewater treatment, natural gas supply system, controls and the like.
Performs engineering tasks for the design of utilities, sanitary systems, plumbing, wastewater treatment, natural gas supply system for high technology facilities including cleanrooms, general manufacturing/process facilities and institutional facilities
Prepares mechanical engineering calculations in support of water hydraulics, static pressure calculations, equipment sizing and selection
Coordinates with disciplines in the preparation and development of the deliverables and ensuring those other disciplines’ inputs are incorporated
Supports project on-site execution and make decisions to support projects and act as technical consultant
Assists in providing specialized technical input to studies and design for staff’s specific area of expertise
Assists in developing studies and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by discipline team
Works closely with the project team and other disciplines as well as other design offices
Assists in the development of conceptual design, preliminary design, and final design documents which would include calculations related to sizing and selecting of these systems, the development of Process and Instrumentation Diagrams, general arrangements and sequences of operation associated with these systems
Works on a variety of wet services sanitary systems, including waste water treatment, rainwater and other gravity drainage systems, whilst understanding their impact on the environment and collaborating across disciplines to minimize it
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical education background required
5+ years of experience with Sanitary Systems, Waste Water Systems & Rain Water Systems - Natural Gas Supply System experience would be advantageous
Advanced Technology Facilities experience preferred (such as e.g. semiconductors)
Very good knowledge of Autodesk Building Systems Software
General knowledge of codes and common industry standards related to the design of industrial and manufacturing facilities and systems
Must be a strong team player with an ability to build effective working relationships with individuals, department leads and client representatives
Fluent German & and very good English language skills
