As an English Support Teacher, your role is all about creating a fun, supportive environment for students aged 15-21 to build their confidence in English communication. This isn’t your typical teaching job—there’s no formal classroom instruction here! Instead, you’ll:
- Design and Deliver Creative Activities: Plan and organise exciting English activities, group work, and interactive sessions to help students engage with the language in meaningful ways.
- In-Class Speaking Support: Provide assistance during speaking assessment preparation, to guide and encourage students.
- Campus Event Engagement: Get involved in campus life by supporting a range of events, bringing your enthusiasm and energy to make them unforgettable.
Working hours
- 8 hours per day (1 hr lunch break, 5 hr student contact time, 2 hr max for preparation and admin work)
Duties
- Foster an immersive English-speaking environment across campus.
- Organize engaging language learning activities with measurable outcomes in both written and spoken forms.
- Facilitate concise workshops and chat groups (up to 1 hour) outside the classroom.
- Coordinate cultural events that enrich the school community.
- Assist students in preparing for assessments, interviews, and project presentations.
- Support English lessons alongside regular English teachers.
- Help students participate in events and international competitions.
- Coach students to excel as event hosts.
- Perform any additional tasks as assigned by campus leadership.
Requirements
- Native-level English speaker
- Degree and teaching certification preferred (TEFL/TESOL etc)
- A creative, energetic individual with a knack for designing engaging activities.
- A confident communicator who loves connecting with young people.
- Flexible and adaptable, ready to jump in and support events or classroom sessions as needed.
- Have a valid work visa
