Job Summary

This intermediate level position inspects work and procedures in their assigned area and maintains accurate documentation relating to conformance of codes and procedures in order to ensure quality standards are being met.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Utilize knowledge of industry processes/codes to ensure quality standards are being met
  • Read and understand basic drawings, codes and procedures in order to inspect for conformance
  • Inspect completed/in-process work and procedures utilized within the facility
  • Schedule tests and inspections
  • Maintain accurate and organized/detailed documentation in a timely manner

Job Specific Skills

  • Understand basic mechanical equipment, fabrication piping and vessel components
  • Intermediate level comprehension of wiring/piping schematics
  • Know how to operate overhead cranes and forklifts
  • Working knowledge of arithmetic and algebra. Basic knowledge of geometry and other mathematical applications
  • Intermediate knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
  • Basic knowledge of welding, modern engines and compressors used in the natural gas industry preferred

Education & Experience

Minimum: High school diploma or GED and 2 - 5 years related work experience or an equivalent substitution for education of 6 - 9 years related work experience

Preferred: Vocational or technical training - In related field
