Transmission Line Engineer
Location: Eden Prairie, MN | Hybrid | Remote
Schedule: Full-Time
Salary: $100,000 – $160,000 (based on experience)

EVS is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to support the design and delivery of overhead and underground transmission projects across the utility and renewable energy sectors. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys combining technical excellence, client interaction, and team leadership in a fast-growing, collaborative environment.

What You’ll Do

Design overhead and underground transmission line projects from concept through delivery.


Support the development of project estimates, schedules, and resource plans for proposals and active work.


Perform and support quality control reviews to ensure engineering deliverables meet standards and client expectations.


Participate in project meetings, providing technical insight and representing EVS with clients and partners.


Respond to client questions and help resolve project challenges efficiently and professionally.


Contribute to department workflows, tools, and best practices to improve consistency and delivery.

Apply and support standards such as NESC, IEEE, ANSI, and ASTM across transmission line projects.


Help develop and maintain transmission line design standards and guidelines.
Mentor and support the growth of engineering staff to meet project and client needs.


Identify opportunities to expand EVS services, including right-of-way acquisition and permitting support.

Support business development efforts through proposal preparation and client presentations.


Build and maintain strong client relationships and promote EVS as a trusted engineering partner.

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.


Five or more years of experience in transmission line design within a utility, consulting, or EPC environment.


Proficiency with industry tools such as the PLS-CADD suite, MFAD, AutoCAD, or similar software.


Experience with underground transmission line design is a plus.
Familiarity with tools such as PLS-CAISSON, MFAD, LPILE, or PLS-TOWER preferred.


Knowledge of General Order 95 preferred.


Professional Engineer licensure is a plus.


Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment with a positive, professional mindset.
