Analyst, Actuarial Services

We are hiring an Actuarial Analyst to join our Actuarial Services Team.

Our Actuarial team partners with Analytics, Market Operations, and Finance to ensure alignment across forecasting, risk management, and financial planning.”

What You’ll Be Doing:

The Actuarial Analyst will develop analytic tools and assist in pricing specialty risk products; complemented by monthly reserve management for key clients. 

  • Perform financial analyses to support key partners

  • Perform data analyses and financial simulations to support leadership’s pursuit of new specialty business

  • Assist in the development of underlying pricing assumptions

  • Develop actuarial models for use across multiple teams and projects

  • Streamline processes to improve efficiency of key deliverables

  • Communicate actuarial concepts and concerns within actuarial department

  • Play a key role in Evolent’s future partnerships to change the way healthcare is delivered

 

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Economics or related degree.

  • Candidates must be on the Actuarial exam track, having passed a minimum of one actuarial exam

  • Strong technical skills required in Microsoft Office

  • Ability to communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders

  • Reliable, takes initiative, and manages competing deadlines

  • Desires to work on challenging projects for a high-growth organization

  • Works collaboratively and pitches in for the greater good of the team

  • Is detail-oriented and owns their results

 

 The Experience You’ll Need (Preferred):

  • Past actuarial experience and/or internship

  • Familiarity with healthcare analytics

  • Ability to read and write SQL and/or SAS code

  • Familiarity with PowerQuery/BI/VBA/Python/R

We require that all employees have the following technical capability at their home: High speed internet over 10 Mbps and, specifically for all call center employees, the ability to plug in directly to the home internet router. The expected base salary/wage range for this position is $70,000-$75,000. This position is also eligible for a bonus component that would be dependent on pre-defined performance factors. As part of our total compensation package, Evolent is proud to offer comprehensive benefits (including health insurance benefits) to qualifying employees. All compensation determinations are based on the skills and experience required for the position and commensurate with experience of selected individuals, which may vary above and below the stated amounts.
