Kennel Technician

24-Hour Emergency Veterinary Hospital

Job Summary
Kennel Technicians play a critical role in the care and comfort of our hospitalized and boarding patients. In this hands-on role, you’ll support animal well-being, maintain a clean and safe hospital environment, and assist the veterinary team in a fast-paced, 24-hour emergency setting.
Schedule is a rotating schedule of 10 and 12-hour shifts, either 12 PM - 12 AM or 12 PM - 10 PM. Every other weekend plus holiday work is required. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Feed, water, and administer medications as directed

  • Monitor animal health and behavior; report concerns promptly

  • Assist with bathing, walking, grooming, and comfort care

  • Provide calm, compassionate support in a high-stress environment

  • Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, and common areas

  • Launder bedding and maintain clean, stocked supplies

  • Restock food, cleaning products, and essential items

  • Support veterinary technicians and veterinarians as needed

  • Assist with client drop-offs, pick-ups, and basic communication


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Experience with animals preferred (kennel, shelter, or veterinary setting)

  • Passion for animal care and welfare

  • Ability to handle animals of varying sizes and temperaments

  • Strong attention to detail and reliability

  • Team-oriented with good communication skills

  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
