Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Radiology Director and Radiology Team Leaders, provides assistance to the Radiologic Technologists and/or the Radiologists in the performance of radiological exams and the care of our patients.

Education:
Required:
Must be currently enrolled in the Radiologic Technology program and considered a senior student.

Must be detail-oriented and a self starter who can function efficiently and professionally in a demanding environment.

Department Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Radiology Director, Radiology Team Leaders, and radiologists, provides assistance to the Radiologic Technologists in the performance of radiological exams and the care of our patients. This includes direct patient care, scheduling patients, communication with physicians, securing lab values and prior reports/studies. Also included is retrieval and filing of radiology films/studies, transporting patients and film developing. Student RTs load images manually and electronically for interpretation by a radiologist. Must enter, complete and/or change orders to generate charges for exams on a computer. Other duties include processing outpatients from their arrival, and securing signed consents for testing. Student RTs order supplies, clean and stock procedure rooms, and assist patients to the exams rooms. Must be currently enrolled as a senior student in an accredited and approved Radiology program and demonstrate appropriate skills in their clinical setting. Limited duties of an R.T. The scope of these duties may not exceed the skill level of the student and must be supervised by a Registered Radiologic Technologist. All other duties as assigned.

The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's policies and procedures.
