Join The Team:

ERCO Worldwide is looking for a Commercial Manager to join our team in Mininco, Chile! The Commercial Manager is responsible for all financial aspects of accounting, reporting, budgeting, and projections for the Mininco plant. This role ensures compliance with legal, accounting, and tax regulations, maintains robust internal controls, and supports the safe and responsible operation of the plant.

 

The Role:

Main Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the corporate finance group in Toronto, Canada to prepare month- and year-end financial statements and reports in accordance with local legal accounting and tax practices.
  • Prepares and maintains production statistics, variance analysis reports, and monthly-end journal and general ledger entries.
  • Prepares reconciliations to Chilean GAAP for local and tax reporting purposes.
  • Prepares and coordinates with external consultants the review of all tax returns and related analyses, including income tax/VAT, etc.
  • Maintains accounts payable records.
  • Works with key plant employees to develop and maintain operating and capital budgets, including formal Capital Authorization Requests (CARs).
  • Performs detailed reviews of banking transactions, including all necessary accounting analyses and reconciliations.
  • Assumes specific initiatives/analyses to support the plant and corporate offices, including cost management, variance and accounting analysis, and reporting on key metrics.
  • Responsible for managing and understanding contract provisions and detailed supporting annexes to support all billing to CMPC.
  • Responsible for performance management evaluations, training, and development plans for staff under his/her supervision.
  • Partners with the Plant Leadership team in the realization of company-wide and site-specific objectives.
  • Models ERCO’s values in interactions with colleagues, stakeholders and the community

 

  • Safety Responsibilities:
  • Ensures employees comply with safety regulations and procedures and perform their duties based on good safe work practices and ERCO’s procedures.
  • Provides adequate information to employees under their direction about the risks related to their work and provide them with appropriate training and supervision to ensure that they possess the skill and knowledge to perform their jobs safely.
  • Ensures that regular inspections are carried out in the workplace to maintain cleanliness and identify situations that may be a source of danger or danger to employees.
  • Ensures that any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts are remedied without delay and corrective actions are implemented to eliminate them.
  • Ensures  that situations beyond their direct authority are presented to senior plant management for resolution.

 

Process Safety Management Responsibilities:

  • Maintains and updates procedures within the management area, ensuring these procedures upholds the operational integrity of the plant..

Investigates all incidents that occurred in the plant and determine the root cause of those with the greatest impact.  Ensures corresponding actions are carried out to prevent reoccurrence.

The Person:

  • University Degree in Accounting, Finance or a Commercial Engineer
  • Possession of CPA designation (Contador Auditor Universitario) required
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and spoken)
  • 6+ years experience in Business Accounting, Budgeting/Cost Management, Community Outreach, Vendor Management, and audits
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, coupled with team leadership experience
  • Multi-stakeholder management experience
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and JD Edwards
  • Knowledge of Hyperion Enterprise or reporting platforms
  • Advanced knowledge of excel and analytics
  • Strong technical accounting skills

ERCO Worldwide busca un Gerente Comercial para unirse a nuestro equipo en Mininco, Chile. El Gerente Comercial es responsable de todos los aspectos financieros de contabilidad, reportes, elaboración de presupuestos y proyecciones para la planta de Mininco. Este rol asegura el cumplimiento con las normas legales, contables y tributarias, mantiene controles internos sólidos y apoya la operación segura y responsable de la planta.

El Rol

Responsabilidades Principales:

  • Trabajar en estrecha colaboración con el equipo corporativo de finanzas en Toronto, Canadá, para preparar estados financieros y reportes de fin de mes y fin de año, de acuerdo con las prácticas contables y tributarias locales.
  • Preparar y mantener estadísticas de producción, análisis de variaciones y asientos contables mensuales y de libro mayor.
  • Preparar conciliaciones bajo IFRS Chileno (Chilean GAAP) para fines locales y tributarios.
  • Preparar y coordinar con consultores externos la revisión de todas las declaraciones de impuestos y análisis relacionados, incluyendo impuesto a la renta/IVA, entre otros.
  • Mantener los registros de cuentas por pagar.
  • Trabajar con empleados clave de la planta para desarrollar y mantener presupuestos operativos y de capital, incluyendo Solicitudes Formales de Autorización de Capital (CARs).
  • Realizar revisiones detalladas de transacciones bancarias, incluidos todos los análisis y conciliaciones necesarias.
  • Liderar iniciativas o análisis específicos para apoyar a la planta y a las oficinas corporativas, incluyendo gestión de costos, análisis contable y de variaciones, y reportes de métricas clave.
  • Administrar y comprender las cláusulas contractuales y anexos de respaldo para gestionar la facturación a CMPC.
  • Ser responsable de las evaluaciones de desempeño, capacitación y planes de desarrollo del personal bajo su supervisión.
  • Colaborar con el equipo de Liderazgo de la Planta para cumplir los objetivos corporativos y específicos del sitio.

Responsabilidades de Seguridad:

  • Asegurar que los empleados cumplan con las normas y procedimientos de seguridad, y que desempeñen sus funciones bajo prácticas de trabajo seguras y de acuerdo con los procedimientos de ERCO.
  • Proveer información adecuada a los empleados sobre los riesgos relacionados con su trabajo, así como la capacitación y supervisión necesarias para garantizar que cuenten con las habilidades y conocimientos para desempeñar sus tareas de manera segura.
  • Garantizar que se realicen inspecciones periódicas en el lugar de trabajo para mantener la limpieza e identificar condiciones que puedan representar riesgos.
  • Asegurar que cualquier condición o acto inseguro sea corregido sin demora e implementar acciones correctivas.
  • Escalar situaciones fuera de su autoridad al equipo de gestión de la planta para su resolución.

 

Responsabilidades de Gestión de Seguridad de Procesos:

  • Mantener y actualizar los procedimientos dentro de su área de gestión, asegurando que estos respalden la integridad operativa de la planta.
  • Investigar todos los incidentes ocurridos en la planta y determinar la causa raíz de aquellos de mayor impacto. Asegurar que se implementen las acciones correspondientes para evitar su recurrencia.

 

Perfil de la Persona:

  • Título universitario en Contabilidad, Finanzas o Ingeniería Comercial.
  • Contar con la designación de CPA (Contador Auditor Universitario) – requisito obligatorio.
  • Bilingüe en inglés y español (oral y escrito).
  • Más de 6 años de experiencia en contabilidad empresarial, presupuestos/gestión de costos, relación con la comunidad, gestión de proveedores y auditorías.
  • Más de 5 años de experiencia en un entorno industrial, junto con experiencia en liderazgo de equipos.
  • Experiencia en gestión multiactor.
  • Conocimiento de sistemas ERP y JD Edwards.
  • Conocimiento de Hyperion Enterprise u otras plataformas de reportes.
  • Conocimiento avanzado de Excel y herramientas analíticas.
  • Fuertes habilidades técnicas de contabilidad.
