What We Do


The Community team serves as a listener and a voice to the diverse and expanding development community. Our team grows, inspires, and supports a strong community while evangelizing and promoting Epic's tools and services.


What You'll Do


Epic is looking for a Lead Community Manager to inspire and grow our developer community for Unreal Engine, Fortnite creators, and Fab. The ideal candidate will have experience with game engines and user-generated content (UGC), with a preference for Unreal Engine and Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN).


In this role, you will



  • Initiate positive and supportive conversations with the community around content, information, and other opportunities while staying up to date with the latest community trends for Unreal Engine and Fortnite

  • Manage our Epic Developer Community Forums, Discord Channels, Twitch, and YouTube, and monitor and respond to conversations in those channels

  • Create and grow self-sustaining community programs

  • Write and analyze community sentiment reports, identifying key community issues, and escalating issues to the proper teams

  • Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders across Epic Games to share the latest community analytics, sentiment, issues, and other feedback

  • Work with the community team to organize weekly livestreams, and other events such as AMAs, game jams, and challenges.

  • Ensure the community is healthy and active by making our platforms welcoming, engaging, and informative to new and veteran members and stimulate continued community-made contributions by sharing great community tutorials, amazing creations, and rewarding outstanding community contributors


What we're looking for



  • 8+ years of experience in Community Management or other disciplines with strong community interaction

  • Extensive experience with software development communities, with a strong understanding of game engine development and UGC

  • Passion for gaming, UGC, and the developer community

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • You’re community-focused, passionate, and innovative

  • Previous experience developing games or other real-time experiences, ideally using Unreal Engine or Unreal Editor for Fortnite
