About the Role
We are seeking an experienced FinOps Engineer to drive financial accountability, cost transparency, and infrastructure optimization across cloud and on-prem environments. This role partners closely with Finance, Engineering, and Infrastructure teams to enable cost-efficient operations, forecasting accuracy, and adherence to FinOps best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cost optimization initiatives across cloud and on-prem infrastructure, focusing on usage analysis, resource efficiency, and waste reduction.
- Build financial models, cost forecasts, and consumption projections to support budgeting and strategic planning.
- Create and maintain dashboards and reporting mechanisms to provide visibility into spend, usage, and optimization opportunities.
- Partner with Finance, Engineering, Procurement, and Operational teams to align cost strategies and accountability frameworks.
- Drive adoption of FinOps methodologies, including education, governance, and best practices rollout.
- Enable cost transparency across cloud/infrastructure environments and ensure accurate allocation, tagging, and chargeback/showback mechanisms.
- Identify right-sizing, resource utilization, and lifecycle optimization opportunities across compute, storage, networking, and platform services.
- Support budgeting cycles, variance analysis, and executive reporting for cloud and infrastructure spending.
- Monitor and evaluate multi-cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments to ensure cost efficiency and performance alignment.
- Track KPIs and provide insights to leadership on spend patterns, consumption drivers, and optimization outcomes.
- Present recommendations and business cases for cost initiatives, including ROI justification and prioritization.
