Description

The Project Manager/Business Analyst (Hybrid) provides essential support in managing IT Optimization requests and pre-project planning, cleaning and organizing data, and ensuring business processes are well-documented and prepared for prioritization and decision-making. This role combines traditional business analysis responsibilities with hands-on coordination and project management activities, supporting multiple teams across systems including Censinet, ServiceNow, Kinetic, and Emory Express. The individual in this role will lead and support efforts to clean, validate, and standardize data; manage communication with stakeholders to fill gaps in information; and maintain documentation that supports process improvement and prioritization work. This role is critical to reducing the burden on operational teams, improving data reliability, and ensuring smooth project execution. This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive mindset toward identifying issues, coordinating activities, and driving progress.

Multiple stakeholders across the organization have highlighted significant issues with incomplete and inaccurate optimization request data, missing vendor details, and manual cleanup burdens affecting departmental efficiency. This hybrid Project Manager–Business Analyst role fills a critical need by:

  • Centralizing and standardizing data cleanup efforts.
  • Identifying missing fields and coordinating with requesters to fill gaps.
  • Documenting current state request information to support optimization prioritization efforts.
  • Helping merge and deduplicate spreadsheets for improved accuracy.
  • Reducing manual workload for operational teams.

By combining project coordination with business analysis and data validation expertise, this role ensures that cleanup, documentation, and prioritization work progresses efficiently and consistently.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Analysis

  • Collects missing IT Optimization information and requirements by engaging directly with requesters, vendors, or internal partners.
  • Analyzes request data in organization’s systems that include: Censinet, Kinetic, ServiceNow, and Emory Express.
  • Identifies gaps, inconsistencies, and bottlenecks in current data mapping that prevents request prioritization.
  • Supports documentation of the current state that includes priority mapping document, process maps, data flows, and decision points.
  • Helps identify opportunities for process improvement and standardization.

Project Management

  • Coordinates request collection activities across systems ensuring cleanup, data validation, and documentation efforts are efficient and prodctive.
  • Creates, manages, and updates project efforts, timelines, and task lists.
  • Tracks progress on cleanup and remediation initiatives and reports status to leadership.
  • Ensures assigned work activities remain on schedule, escalating risks or delays as needed.
  • Facilitates meetings with customers,  and ensures data collection and follow-up actions are completed.
  • Supports prioritization of tasks and requests across teams.

Data Cleanup & Quality Support

  • Cleans up data across multiple systems by identifying missing fields, correcting inconsistencies, and validating information in comparison to collected customer data.
  • Helps deduplicate and merge spreadsheets, ensuring accurate and consistent data.
  • Works with stakeholders to align data across platforms and resolve discrepancies.
  • Tracks common data issues and recommends steps to reduce recurring problems.
  • Ensures data accuracy for prioritization, reporting, and leadership dashboards.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Acts as a centralized point of coordination for cleanup and validation activities.
  • Communicates clearly with requesters to obtain missing or corrected information.
  • Prepares summaries, documentation, and updates for leadership.
  • Partners with technical teams, business units, and external users as needed.
  • Supports user satisfaction by managing expectations and providing timely, accurate updates.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, information systems, project management, or related field.
  • Five or more years of experience in project management, business analysis, or a hybrid role.
  • Experience managing task lists, timelines, or workstreams in complex environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to identify inconsistencies or missing information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in gathering information from stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Smartsheet, ServiceNow, or similar tools.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with data cleanup projects across multiple systems.
  • Familiarity with Censinet, Kinetic, ServiceNow, or Emory Express.
  • Experience working in higher education, healthcare, or similar enterprise environments.
  • Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, CAPM, Scrum Master).
  • Experience developing process documentation and workflow diagrams.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University location as needed.  All biweekly employees must reside within the State of Georgia.  Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
