Description

The Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology, and the Emory Winship Cancer Institute in Atlanta, Georgia seeks a board-certified/board-eligible Neuro-Oncologist or Medical Oncologist with a specialty in Neuro/Brain Medical Oncology to join our rapidly growing, multidisciplinary Winship Brain Tumor Center. Applicants must be eligible for licensure in Georgia. Interested candidates should embrace team-oriented clinical care. The ideal candidate will provide direct patient care and support graduate medical education training and clinical research efforts at Emory Hospital at Midtown and/or Clifton Road. A track record of clinical research and scholarly activity is preferred, but not obligatory. Academic rank, compensation and appointments will be commensurate with applicant’s experience and qualifications. Academic interests outside of direct patient-care delivery are encouraged and supported. Efforts of particular interest include translational research, early phase clinical trials, symptom management, observational studies, adolescent and young adult survivorship including neurofibromatosis, and/or health disparities research.

 

The Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology, Division of Medical Oncology has a fast-growing faculty with professional practices at multiple locations in metro Atlanta. The Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University is a National Cancer Institute designated comprehensive cancer center. Hematology and Medical Oncology is a named department in the Emory School of Medicine, and its physician members deliver medical services in Emory Clinic, Inc. and other practice plans. Programs and services are located at Emory University Hospital, Emory University Hospital Midtown, Emory Decatur Hospital, Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital, and Emory Johns Creek Hospital, and outside Emory Healthcare at the Grady Health System and the Atlanta Veterans’ Administration Medical Center. The Winship at Emory Midtown facility, is a state-of-the-art facility comprising 17 stories and more than 450,000 square feet, built around a patient's needs and comfort, bringing all the necessary doctors, staff and services to the patient. The care communities focus on patients with specific types of cancer, providing specialized infusion facilities, clinical examination rooms, clinical research, and spaces for support and rehabilitation services.

 

NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
