About this role

This role supports our project on the I‑70 corridor by performing hands‑on field work and managing all utility‑related activities on the project. The individual in this position will help ensure that underground utilities are accurately identified, documented, and cleared ahead of construction operations. This role requires both day and night shift availability, strong organization skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast‑moving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all utilities on the project site—including planning ahead to keep construction moving safely and efficiently.
  • Schedule utility locates and ensures potholing is completed ahead of critical work activities.
  • Use a rover (TS7) to document utility locate information and maintain accurate records for project teams.
  • Perform physical labor as needed, supporting crews on site.
  • Use locating equipment to self-perform some utility locates when required.
  • Work both day and night shifts as needed based on project schedules and utility access needs.
  • Stay proactive and maintain a forward‑looking plan for upcoming utility conflicts or work areas.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, Associates Degree, or Degree in civil construction, construction management, or related field.
  • At least 6 months experience working with utilities and/or understand how utilities work.
  • TS7 Rover experience (not a must)
  • DOT Travel and worksite specific
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze project data and identify trends and opportunities for improvement
