The Digilent organization has an opening for a talented Analog/Hardware Design Engineer. In this position you will enjoy the unique opportunity to take ownership and to be involved in all aspects of the product development cycle, including research, design, prototyping, development, testing, sustaining and manufacturing.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Development of specific hardware products for digital development boards and instrumentation systems.
  • Analog, digital and mixed-signal schematic design, implementation in specific CAD tools (Altium, Mentor Expedition), PCB layout design 
  • Perform research as required to complete your projects.
  • Work and interact with a wide variety of geographically distributed R&D staff.  
  • Diagnose and debug technical challenges with your project. 
  • Test your design using hardware prototypes. 
  • Interact with software developers to test your project. 
  • Review and approve product specifications and customer user documentation for the product

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in electronics/electrical engineering

  • Strong understanding of fundamental electronic circuits - semiconductor devices, operational amplifiers, comparators, etc.
  • Understanding signal integrity fundamentals
  • Thorough understanding of the following concepts and principles: 
    • Analog and power circuit design, simulation and validation.

    • Analog to digital and digital to analog data converters

    • Analog and digital mixed signal processing – filtering, sampling, aliasing, performance indicators

    • Specific CAD tools used in the design phase – LTSpice, PSpice, Tina-TI

  • Passion for learning and working with test and measurement industry technologies
  • Strong work ethics and motivation to succeed
  • Proficiency in English

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart: 

  • Experience with practical analog circuit and hardware design
  • Experience with specific CAD tools and simulation environments
  • Schematic Capture and Layout
  • Understanding of transmission lines and signal integrity
