About this role

Job Summary:
If you have a strong background in mechanical design and drafting, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! You will be part of the Design Engineering team located in FCEC, Chennai, and will be responsible for creating accurate customer assembly drawings, including the development of complete 3D assembly models. This role requires close collaboration and communication with multiple cross-functional teams to ensure design intent and customer requirements are met.
 
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Review project submittal drawing specifications and understand customer requirements.

  • Create customer drawings inline with Emerson standards using CAD tool

  • Provide support on Submittal drawing requests during project execution and revisions based on Customer Comments

  • Create new drawings using CAD tools for Support requests raised by Product Engineers.

  • Extending support to revise existing engineering drawings for respective Engineering change notices raised by Product Engineers

  • Create 3D models using respective CAD tools to build database for our products.

  • Offer solutions for improvement in the Existing Drawing system by including other models.

  • Provide Engineering Supports like design modification, stack up analysis and GD&T proposals, issue solving to global team.

  • Maintain records of all work done.


 
Who You Are:
  • You have strong attention to detail and can accurately review customer specifications and drawings to provide technically sound and optimized design solutions. You are able to understand design intent, applicable standards, and drawing requirements to ensure high-quality, error-free deliverables. You actively seek opportunities to improve design efficiency and standardization while meeting project timelines.

 
For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • Good communication and presentation skills

  • Problem solving and Time management.

  • Relevant CAD Tools Experience.


 
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • 1+ years’ Industry work experience in Customer Drawings.

  • Working knowledge of Pressure relief valves, Regulators, ASME and API standards

  • Knowledge of AUTOCAD/Inventor tools

  • Working knowledge of SAP/Oracle
