The Opportunity

The Part-Time Flight Simulation Technician I (Tech I) provide support services, technical expertise, and team skills necessary to maintain the high quality performance of the Flight Simulation and Training Device (FSTD), Advanced Aviation Training Device (AATD), Immersive Training Device (ITD), and Extended Reality (XR) training and research inventory at the Daytona Beach campus. Provides supervision, mentoring, training, and tasking of part-time technical staff to maintain and assure fleet compliance with regulatory requirements and pilot training needs. Participates in the design/development, acquisition, relocation, installation, operation, and maintenance of training resources and the Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) network, as well as the upkeep and improvement of the FAA approved Simulator-Quality Management System (S-QMS).

Qualifications

Required Education and Qualifications:

This position requires an Associate’s degree in one of the following areas of study: Avionics Technology, Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, Computer Information Technology, Software Engineering Technology, or Network Systems Technology. In addition, it requires a minimum of three years working with integrated Flight Simulation and Training Devices (FSTDs). 

A minimum of one year of OEM TYPE SPECIFIC WORK EXPERIENCE in the engineering and technical support of FSTDs and Distributed Flight Simulation Networks may be substituted for the Associate’s degree requirement.
