Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Test Technician to join our rapidly expanding team.As a member of the operations team, the Test Technician position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under direct supervision.  The technician positions must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.

Como miembro del equipo de operaciones, el puesto de Técnico IUT realiza una variedad de asignaciones de pruebas de rutina y no rutinarias dentro del departamento asignado y asegura resultados de prueba precisos y oportunos bajo supervisión directa. Los puestos de Técnico de IUT deben ser competentes en una serie de habilidades comerciales básicas que incluyen, entre otras, el cumplimiento de las reglas de seguridad establecidas, el código de conducta y las políticas y procedimientos de la empresa.

 

Responsibilities

  • Prepares material specimens for testing
  • Performs tests as directed by customer specifications
  • At times operates under the supervision of a more senior test technician and/or a Department Manager
  • Interacts periodically with customers
  • Schedules internal calibration of equipment
  • Gathers and records test data
  • Constructs and maintains various test fixtures and other laboratory equipment to ensure proper working order with little supervision

Esta posición es responsable de actividades en el área de Ultrasonido que incluyen:

• Preparar las piezas para las pruebas correspondientes (Manejo de Material, Limpieza / Inspección Visual / Setup)• Realizar pruebas según lo indicado por las especificaciones del cliente y de los documentos correspondientes (DataCard / Techniques / ScanPlans)• Realizar las revisiones y calibraciones internas diarias según lo indicado (Cambios de agua / Cambio de químicos / Cambio de Líquidos Penetrantes)• Asegurar el uso de equipos calibrados y registro de controles diarios• Evalúa los resultados de las pruebas y genera los reportes correspondientes• Recopilar y registrar datos de prueba para generación de los Certificados• Mantener la trazabilidad de la prueba realizada (Marcaje correcto del SN o lo que aplique)• Entrenar a los aprendices en el método que este certificado, cuando así sea indicado• Realizar los Mantenimientos asignados de los equipos de su área, así como mantener en buen estado los equipos y herramientas para asegurar el funcionamiento adecuado de los mismos• Atender auditorías internas y externas del proceso• Asistir a los cursos programados necesarios para el puesto (Seguridad, Calidad, Manejo de Material, Entrenamientos técnicos)• Mantener el índice de accidentabilidad en cero, trabajando de manera segura con el equipo apropiado• Mantener el área asignada Limpia y ordenada (5S)• Apoyar en otras áreas según sea indicado por la Gerencia o Supervisor

 

Skills / Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of laboratory safety
  • HS diploma or GED certificate preferred. College or vocational school coursework welcomed
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a testing related field
  • Analyzes and compiles testing data from the tests performed
  • Basic understanding of testing concepts
  • Possess computer skills
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a plus

Physical Demands:

  • Frequency of required physical force: Minimum (moderate)
  • Lifting requirements: lifting <50 lbs. often and >50 lbs. on occasion
  • Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift 50+lbs periodically
