About this role

Overview

The FPI Level II Inspector will perform nondestructive testing (NDT) using the Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) method in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and customer specifications. The Level II Inspector is responsible for conducting inspections, interpreting and evaluating results, and documenting findings in compliance with NAS-410 or SNT-TC-1A certification requirements.

 

Salary: $26.50/hr DOE 

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform fluorescent penetrant inspections in accordance with approved procedures, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Interpret and evaluate test results for acceptance or rejection determinations.
  • Set up and verify equipment functionality and process parameters prior to inspection.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records, reports, and data logs.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of inspection equipment, materials, and process controls.
  • Support process audits and continuous improvement initiatives within the NDT department.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Provide guidance and on-the-job training to Level I personnel and trainees, as applicable.

Skills / Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical or associate degree preferred.
  • Certification to NAS-410 or SNT-TC-1A Level II in Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) required.
  • Demonstrated experience performing FPI inspections in an aerospace, defense, or materials testing environment.
  • Working knowledge of applicable industry standards (e.g., ASTM, MIL, or customer-specific specifications).
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret complex technical requirements.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
