What you'll do:
The Senior Development Engineer – Mechanical Modules is responsible for the development of high and medium-complexity mechanical systems for Electrolux refrigerator products. This role is a key contributor to both New Product Development (NPD) and Product Care (PC) activities, including cost out and quality improvement.
The person executes from initial design through to product launch across all regions (Latin America, North America, APAC, and EMEA). All development activities are aligned with Electrolux’s strategic focus on delivering outstanding lifetime consumer.
In addition, the role involves the development, improvement, and validation of existing mechanical components as well as the creation and qualification of new components. Works closely with suppliers, factories, purchasing, and cross-functional teams to analyze and implement robust technical solutions.
The position ensures strict adherence to the Electrolux Project Management (EPM) process, Module Attributes, and Modularization Interface Guidelines (MIG), with a strong focus on speed to market, high product quality, and optimized cost performance.
Mechanical modules within the scope of this role include key structural elements of refrigerator products including body structure, doors, interior components, and packaging—which directly and significantly impact the overall consumer experience.
In detail, you will:
Plan and ensure execution of project deliverables in alignment with agreed timelines, scope, and budget.
Perform CAD design using CATIA V5/NX and take ownership of releasing detailed engineering drawings for manufacturing tools and parts.
Lead the development of mechanical components from concept definition through design validation and release for production, supporting both New Product Development and Product Care projects (Cost out/Quality improvement).
Achieve project targets related to cost, timing, quality, CAPEX, automation, recyclability, modularization, and sustainability.
Actively participate in regular project team meetings, providing accurate technical inputs and status updates to the Project R&D Leader, Project manager or Product Care Leader.
Identify technical and project risks and proactively define, drive, and implement mitigation plans for at-risk items.
Promote a strong culture of “Teamship” and professional accountability across core and extended project teams.
Adhere to the Electrolux Project Management (EPM),DVR and TDP process to support all R&D activities, manage project progress, and ensure all mandatory deliverables are completed prior to gate approvals.
Qualifications:
University Degree in Engineering
At least 5 years of relevant experience in product design and development from home appliances industry, preferable refrigerator product design
Proven experience in the development of plastic and metallic components
Proven ability to finalize high-quality technical studies and implement design/redesign into production
Proficiency with tools and methodologies used in new module development, including stage-gate development processes, Design reviews, DFMEA, and PFMEA.
Strong CAD expertise, including 3D modeling and detailed drawings.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously across different sectors and meet challenging deadlines.
Demonstrate ability and motivation to work effectively in a global, multicultural environment.
Experience or knowledge in product development, manufacturing technologies, and consumer innovation within a high-volume consumer products environment is preferred.
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes such as plastic injection molding, metal stamping, thermoforming, and plastic extrusion.
In-depth knowledge of metallic and plastic raw materials and their applications in product development.
Problem-solving skills for high and moderately complex situations.
Ability to prioritize and organize work to meet deadlines with less or moderate guidance.
Proficiency in standard engineering software and computer applications, including CATIA V5, NX, Team center, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Project.
Willingness and availability to travel locally and globally, including visits to suppliers/Electrolux factory globally.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, including experience delivering technical presentations to large and diverse audiences

You will be based in our Rayong plant and report to Mechanical Module Integration Manager.
