Elderwood Staffing Solutions (ESS) is looking to hire experienced and flexible Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our elite clinical network in our per diem pool!

ESS Requirements:

  • Current NYS License/Certificate
  • Clinical Staff must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience to be eligible for employment.
  • Scheduling Requirements: 4 shifts monthly, out of 4 shifts at least 2 worked on weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday), & 2 major holidays per year.

  • North Country New York: Colonie, Lake Placid, North Creek, & Ticonderoga.
  • Other States: Burlington, VT & Wakefield, RI.

Responsibilities

Registered Nurse (RN) Duties:

  • Administer medications and treatments to assigned residents as ordered by physician and utilizing the five rights as applicable.
  • Direct and monitor the personal care duties and nursing care procedures carried out by Nursing Assistants of the assigned team.
  • Assist Nursing Assistants with direct care of residents, as necessary.
  • Report to Unit Manager/Assistant Unit Manager or Charge Nurse unusual symptoms, change of condition, daily needs, and progress of residents.
  • Follow the Plan of Care for each resident, and monitor the performance of Nursing Assistants in carrying out the appropriate aspects of the care plan.
  • Ensure that resident care standards are maintained in performance of duties, and that the rights of residents and preferences in care and treatment are respected.
  • Ensure that residents and staff are treated with respect and kindness at all times.
  • Provide assessment of needs and resident care planning information as necessary and requested by nurses and other health care disciplines.
  • Observes and practices confidentiality of resident information and privacy when performing job duties.
  • Performs assigned duties according to the service excellence standards and goals established for this position. 
  • Required to float to at-least 2 of our facilities of your choice.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) Qualifications:

  • Possession of an RN State license/registration to practice as Registered Licensed Nurse (RN).
  • Minimum of two (2) years (RN) nursing experience and at least one year of experience in a leadership role preferred.
  • Possession of a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Ability to supervise and work well with other personnel required.
  • Qualities of maturity, diplomacy, and ability to work well with others required.
  • Caring, respectful attitude towards residents required.
  • This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
