Job Summary:

Plan, coordinate, review, and improve manufacturing processes for the Post Exhaust Processing and Test production areas to assure efficient manufacturing operations, applying technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Develop, review, improve manufacturing processes to assure efficient manufacturing operations in order to improve cost/yield/productivity and reduce waste/scrap/downtime
  • Use data analytics techniques to identify areas of concern or areas for improvement
  • Evaluate product quality using stereo microscopes or other test equipment to verify operator workmanship or determine root cause of process/yield issues
  • Diagnose process and equipment issues and work with maintenance teams to keep equipment running optimally
  • Analyze, optimize, or develop as necessary, visual and test equipment/methods for evaluation of electro-optical devices
  • Interface with external customers regarding testing methodology
  • Work with and train bargaining unit employees to improve work processes and product quality
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering field, preferably electrical or computer science
  • 2 + years relevant experience in manufacturing engineering or equivalent
  • Strong analytical abilities and trouble-shooting techniques
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable of performing self-directed work but also the ability to work effectively within a team
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to obtain DoD Security Clearance

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience developing electrical test methods
  • Experience with Visual Studio programming languages (C, C++, C#, VB, Python)
